Metro Atlanta Scooter Mob History

Several years ago, I got a cheap Chinese brand 49cc scooter as an alternative to get back and forth to work.  It was a great way to save money on tags insurance and gas, and made the commute a lot of fun.

Not long after,  I discovered the “scooter scene” and tried going to a couple of club gatherings.  Although I met a couple of cool people to ride with, the clubs I checked out were not what I was looking for, so I created my own.

It started off as a facebook group to help me find people with 49cc scooters to go adventure riding with.  I found a few fun people to ride with, but it snowballed and we now have roughly 221 awesome members.  Sometime near the end of 2015, we voted on a name for ourselves and came up with  – Metro Atlanta Scooter Mob.

I moved up from a 49cc scooter to a 150cc 2014 Tao Tao in 2015,

and now have a 2008 Kawasaki Versys 650cc motorcycle.

I love the Versys, but I am gaining skill and ability and ready to try some track riding. This is what I want next (working HARD to get it).

I still ride with Metro Atlanta Scooter Mob members when I can, and stay up to date on all the new action.

The group continues to grow and we plan to meet up for some really great events and adventures together during the summer of 2017!
